A case filed against DMK MP Kanimozhi, the daughter of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, was dismissed by a local court. A case was filed by the AIADMK advocate D. Ravi Arumugam for allegedly using a beacon, siren, national flag and going around the city in a car which did not carry a registration number. The advocate alleged, in his petition, that Kanimozhi had come to St. Xavier's College in Palayamkottai on July 15 to oversee arrangements for a job in a car with a red light, siren and national flag but without any registration number.Ravi contended that Kanimozhi does not hold a position entitling her to that privilege and, therefore, sought action against her. The case was dismissed by City Magistrate court judge Rajendra Kannan after receiving a report from the Assistant Commissioner of police, (traffic investigation wing).
